Welcome to IntentionalEmployee.com, where you can learn a few tips and gain insights into being a successful professional.
You went to college for at least four years to get a job in the corporate world. After the initial excitement of getting the paycheck wore off, you realized the professional life wasn’t as glamorous as what you thought it would be. You’re really good at your job and have even been told you are a high-performer. Why hasn’t that turned into faster-than-normal promotions and higher salaries?
I’ve been there and done that.
I had dreams that didn’t come true.
I even quit the job I once loved.
You don’t need to suffer through all of that any longer. Today is your opportunity to change the future of work as you know it.
Why be intentional?
You will not reach your destination without traveling the right roads. The same can be said of your career and your life. You won’t reach your career and personal goals (whatever they may be) without having and following a plan to get there.
You need to be intentional about everything you do to truly reach success.
Being intentional includes creating a plan. Creating a plan is only the first step though. You need to follow that plan by showing up each day and doing something to move you forward.
Why and how I can help
I started my professional career in public accounting in 2000. It’s been a long and winding journey but I’m still loving it. Through these many years, I’ve experienced several ups and downs. I’ve questioned why I put myself through the hours (especially during busy season!), the travel and the stress. I’ve emotionally punished myself for sacrificing time with my family to be successful in my career. Whatever you are experiencing in your career, I’ve been there too and can commiserate with you.
Each bump in the road has taught me something that I want to pass on to you. There is no reason for you to experience the same difficulties I did. I can help you live with more purpose, have more balance in your life, love your career and spend quality time with your family.
Being a successful professional take time, commitment, sweat and even tears.
Let me help you reach success without the tears. The time, commitment and sweat are still required.
A little about me
My name is Bert Purdy. I’m married and have three beautiful daughters who are the reason I work so hard. My drive to be successful is because of them.
Besides working and spending time with my wife and daughters, we spend a lot of time with our church family. We are members of the Arnold church of Christ (just south of St. Louis), where I serve as a deacon and the treasurer. Because our faith is such an important part of our lives, you will experience my faith through the articles on this site. I believe the characteristics of being a Christian are the same characteristics that can help you be successful in your career.
