Do you want a better or different job? Would you rather live in a different city, state or even country? Would you simply just like to be in a different station in life?
Unfortunately, more than 70 percent of Americans dislike their jobs. People living in the North want to move South for the winter (I’m one of them by the way) to escape the cold and snow. People living in the South want to move North for the summer to escape the heat.
If we all would be happier with different lives, why don’t we just make that happen? Why don’t we quit our jobs and move to a different location? You can do it.
Of the three phases of the “lifestyle entrepreneurship” movement, you can achieve two very quickly. The three phases are freedom of time, money and location.
You can have freedom of time today by quitting your job. You can uproot and move to a different city today. Neither of those takes a lot of effort or planning if you want to just achieve time and location freedom.
Fortunately, we’re all smarter than to think it’s that easy. The freedom of money drives the other two. Time and location won’t work well unless we have money coming in above our levels of expense.
So instead of dwelling on these three “lifestyle” freedoms, focus on living in the now.
Prosper where you are planted!
Wherever you’ve been planted in life economically, physically, emotionally, you can learn to prosper.
Until you can be happy where you are, a different location will have different scenery but you’ll have the same result.
Until you can be happy with your current economic status, more money will only create more problems.
Until you can be happy with the time you now have, more time won’t matter.
You can choose to prosper where you’ve been planted or you can continue living a dismal and unhappy existence. I’ll choose happiness. What will you choose?
Everything in life comes down to a choice.
You can choose to be happy, work hard and get ahead in life. Or, you can be unhappy, not work hard because you don’t “think” it matters and stay in your same station of life.
Do you want that new car your friend just bought? Work for it. Do you want that bigger house in the neighborhood down the road. Work for it.
Do you want happiness? Choose to be happy. Yes, I said choose.
It’s your choice to be happy. No one can give you happiness. It’s inside you right now. Stop keeping it in and let that happiness come out.
It’s your choice to prosper where you are planted.
In the Bible, you can read the Parable of the Sower. He plants seed in several types of ground: rocky, good soil, soil full of thorns. How well the seed grows into a fruit-bearing plant depends on the type of soil.
Guess what! You’re not a seed. Your may have been planted somewhere you couldn’t control, but unlike the seed from the parable, you (and only you) control how well you grow.
You choose to water the seed (you) and how much sunshine that seed (you) will get. You choose to pull the weeds out of where the seed (you) is planted so you can get the nutrients to grow. You choose to prosper where you are planted.
Once you’ve decided to prosper where you’re planted, and you’ve reached that point of prosperity, what do you do next?
That’s the great part about life. You make those decisions. You’re not a tree that is stuck in the ground where it’s been planted. You have the freedom and ability to take up root and move on.
Find something that drives you and enhances your life. Find a way to enhance the lives of others and do that. Your “then what” can be whatever you want it to me.
First, though, you have to prosper where you are planted. Until you reach a level of happiness where you are, you’re future is bleak. Create a vivid future by first being prosperous where you are!
