June Cleaver is the stereotypical stay at home mom. Dinner was ready when Ward got home from work each day. The paper was set out with a full breakfast each morning. What a life…for Ward.
The life of a stay at home mom is unenviable. She takes care of the kids, the house, the laundry, planning for events, running kids to practice, etc. For all the work a stay at home mom does, the wage per hour is pretty poor.
If you want to see what a stay at home mom’s job description would look like, watch this video:
As you can see, a stay at home mom does not receive credit for all the hard work she does. If that’s true (and it is), then what can you say about a working mom? A working mom has the same responsibilities as a stay at home mom except she also has a job out of the house.
How do they do it? I don’t know.
It takes a very special person to be able to be a stay at home mom, much less a working mom. Being a mom is hard enough. Taking care of an entire family is another matter altogether.
On this Mother’s Day of 2014, I want to thank all the working mothers and stay at home moms who raise their children in the right way, take care of their homes and take care of their husbands. You all deserve better than you receive.
And a special note to my wife, the beautiful mother of three girls,
“Thank you. I do not show my appreciation often enough for all you do. I’ve taken you for granted in the past and vow that it will not happen in the future. You are the sun around which my world moves. Even when we have our disagreements, you continue being the mother and wife you have always been. I love you with all my heart and soul.”
